Phishing is defined as the attempt to acquire sensitive information for malicious reasons.
Why does this matter. I dont have a lot of money on my personal accounts.
Well I hate to say it but some times it is not about you. It is about the systems that you have access to. According to Mashable 87% of respondents ages 18-30 reuse passwords and 81% of respondents 31 and up also reuses passwords. So that means that if the bad guys have one of your passwords most likely they have more than one.
The bad guy now has potential to use your account for not so nice things. Things like spamming or getting a foothold in the system they are trying to get into. And yes they potentially have accesses to your credit cards. Now you may only have a 2,000 limit, but if you combine it with 2,000 other cards it can add up. Since most people reuse passwords the bad guys can do it again once you get a new credit card.
