Another data breach has surfaced that has affected millions!
Community Health Systems, operating over 200 hospitals, has reported that hackers have stolen personal records from roughly 4.5 million patients. These records include names, social security numbers, addresses, birthdays, and phone numbers. The people who may be affected by this breach are patients who were treated by Community Health affiliated doctors or referred to the hospital by outside doctors.
With an increase in security and data breaches like this, T-Tech Solutions LLC advises you to monitor your accounts for any irregular activity. Sources, such as TransUnion, say to monitor your accounts for a long period of time, because it may take awhile for the activity to surface.
When valuable information such as this is stolen, hackers have the ability to open bank accounts, credit cards, take out loans, and various other ways to destroy your credit and identity.
As always, T-Tech Solutions LLC is here to help educate on how to stay protected on your computer. Unfortunately, this type of breach cannot be stopped from the client side as it was a direct server attack, but protecting yourself on your own computer and while surfacing the web is just as crucial Contact us for any question you might have on keeping yourself better protected.
